Morwenstow Automatic External Defibrillator

  •  The AED situated on the wall outside front door of the Morwenstow Community Centre.
  •  It is checked daily to ensure that it is Green Rescue Ready.
  • Anyone can use the AED.
  • You may be asked by the ambulance service to collect the AED if you have dialled 999 and are waiting for an ambulance.
  • To access the AED just press the big red button on the front which will release it from the casing.
  • You do not need any training to use the AED as when you reach the casualty and open the AED it will provide aural instructions.
  • You will find all the kit you need inside the zipped bag attached to the AED case.
  • The AED will not allow anyone to administer a shock unless the casualty requires it.
  • Follow the ambulance crews advice on returning the AED to its location outside the Morwenstow Community Centre.
  • You can obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED training locally. There is a session arranged annually at Morwenstow Community Centre or ask the Bude Information Centre for further details.
